Who We Have been
Our congregation was organized in May of 1869 when a small group of people from Hopewell ARP Church in Blackstock, SC decided, at the urging of the Holy Spirit, to begin a church in the township of Chesterville. God rewarded their obedience to him and built a congregation that has stood the test of time. For the last 150 years, we have been a faithful presence to the glory of God in our community. Our eleven pastors, three buildings, and countless faithful members have served our Lord Jesus well as they have encouraged engaging worship, nurtured many young Christians, fostered deep relationships, and proclaimed the gospel throughout the world.
Who We ARe Now
At present, our congregation continues to exist for the purpose of glorifying God by making mature, worshipping disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ for the advancement of His Kingdom to the ends of the Earth. We seek to build our ministry on the twin principles of the Bible as the Word of God and the gospel of God’s grace in Christ Jesus with four distinct core values: Christ-glorifying worship, Christ-centered community, Christ-honoring service, and Christ-directed outreach. In all things, we want to proclaim God's amazing love in Christ.
Who we pray to be
Our vision is to remain faithful to our mission, which hasn't changed over the life of our congregation. We are committed to prayerfully proclaiming the amazing love of God in Christ to men, women, and children throughout the world seeking to see lives transformed by the forgiving and loving grace of God through the gospel of Jesus Christ. To this end we endeavor and trust that the Holy Spirit will grant us success.
